Company History

In 1977, our Managing Director, Brian Quinn and his small team of expert joiners began making very traditional joinery products for local customers using hand tools and basic equipment.

Looking back over 40 years, we are proud to have stayed true to the principles of craftsmanship, quality and service that Brian established and nurtured all those years ago.

Steady Expansion

After four years of increasing demand, Brian oversaw a new chapter in the company’s development and the move to bigger premises. Despite the recessionary conditions, our steady expansion through the 1980s and 90s proved that the underlying principles established at the outset were sound and desirable. Woodmarque quickly became a ‘household name’ in the local joinery trade and continued to grow and enjoy an increasing reputation for unrivalled quality and craftsmanship.

An International Company

In 1998, we became one of the first companies in the UK to obtain an International Fire Standard for our FD30 + FD60 Fire Door range. We have subsequently become a market leader in the manufacture and supply of fire rated doors. By the turn of the millennium, we had grown into a truly international company, exporting products to the UK, Europe and Australia.

State-Of-The-Art Premises

From our roots in the residential market, we were able to add finesse to our retail and commercial reach. By 2000, we had moved into our state-of-the-art premises in Dungannon, comprising a 50,000 sqft factory complemented by 15000 sqft office, boardrooms and extensive showrooms.
